E10 fuel use
As part of its commitment in the Queensland Ethanol Industry Blueprint, the Queensland Government is keen to promote the use of E10 fuel (unleaded fuel blended with 10% ethanol) by using E10 where possible across the Queensland Government fleet.
Government Owned Corporations are encouraged to also pursue this objective, and QFleet encourages its clients to use E10 in vehicles approved by manufacturers to be E10 compatible. Further information about where E10 is available and about ethanol fuel can be obtained from the Department of State Development, Trade and Innovation by clicking on "Queensland industries" then "Ethanol" at www.sdi.qld.gov.au.
Most vehicles leased by QFleet have been approved by manufacturers to use properly blended E10 fuel. There are still some models within the QFleet range of petrol vehicles for which E10 has not yet been recommended. An up-to-date list of non-compatible vehicles is available at www.qfleet.qld.gov.au under "About Us" "Green Initiatives" "Alternative fuels - ethanol", where there is a link to "E10 compatibility".
