Privacy

The Queensland Government collects and manages personal information held by government in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2009. This legislation replaces Queensland's administrative privacy scheme under Information Standard 42 and Information Standard 42A.

The primary intent of the legislation is to protect personal information which is collected, stored, used and disclosed in the delivery of government services and the conduct of government business. The personal information handling practices of Queensland Treasury are detailed in the annual Personal Information Digest (PDF 85K). This sets out the kind of personal information collected or held by the Department, what it is used for and to whom it is disclosed.
